Loving this weather! I’m so happy that I’ve been able to pull out my sandals and spring dresses. If it could feel this nice outside year round, I’d die happy.
1. New Sandals

I’ve always had a go-to comfortable flat pair of sandals in brown and black. Last fall I wore my favorite brown sandals into the office and by 9:05 A.M., they were completely broken. I spent the day walking around with my sandals literally pulled together with safety pins.
Needless to say, with this warmer weather upon us, I set out in search of a new reliable pair. After scouring all of your typical shoe stores (Zappos, Piperlime, Target, DSW, etc.) I thought I was out of luck. Size 11 shoes are hard to come by, and even worse when I’m so picky. Then I stumbled into Amazon.com’s shoe catalog. Normally Amazon is associated with books, DVD, or even digital cameras. Never shoes until this week.
2. Drinks at P.O.V. at the W Hotel
Tuesday evening I told Sam I had a surprise planned. I’d seen pictures of facebook friends at some rooftop bar with a view, and after some sleuthing I and Yelp review reading, I made a reservation at P.O.V. The rooftop lounge reminded me of being in Southbeach and the view was incredible. I wish I had known about it sooner so I could have taken my friends when they were in town!
Sam used a panorama app on his phone, which gives you a great idea of how fun P.O.V. was: http://360.io/KgqSTs
3. A surprise gift from Sam
This week Sam picked up Jonah Lehrer’s new book, Imagination: How Creativity Works for me to read. I can’t wait to dive in! I heard an excerpt of an interview with Lehrer on NPR, and it seems like a neat idea for a book.
Plus any surprise is good news to me.
4. Puppy dog antique brooch

As I’ve posted on reidmore before (Buying diamonds on my lunch break), I am in love with the Farmers Market in Bethesda. Sure, it’s mostly your typical market vendors: knock-off bags, pashminas, flowers, etc. But the hidden gem (literally) is the large stall of antique jewelry. The vendors are lovely and willing to bargain. They have tables upon tables of brooches, rings, necklaces, bracelets, you name it. I could probably spend $500 there, which is saying a ton when most of the stuff is $5 each.
Today while I was walking around on my lunch break and enjoying the weather, I happened upon a sweet puppy brooch at this stall. It’s a dead-ringer for Tilly, my pup. $5 later, it was mine.
5. Double leopard print on sale at Loehmann’s
Got two dresses on mega sale at Loehmann’s and I love the print! They’re both an abstract graphic leopard, and I’m so happy.
